What should I look out for when buying?
●Waterproof membrane – in a mountaineering jacket this layer is both waterproof and breathable. In practice this means that it isolates well from the outside environment, while also wicking away perspiration, keeping our skin dry even during intense activity,

●Warmth – this is essential when looking for a winter or autumn mountaineering jacket. It should be light, but effectively warm the body,

●Taped seams – covered with a special tape to prevent moisture from penetrating the seams,

●Reflective elements – make us more visible on the trail even when it is dark or when visibility is poor,

●Windproof – protects against the cold even in adverse weather conditions. It can take the form of an additional windproof tape to protect the zipper,

●Waterproof impregnation – effectively prevents soaking through, slowing down the absorption of moisture from the outside,

●Integrated hood – since it fits tightly to the jacket, it provides additional protection to the head from rain, snow or wind.

How to Wash a Waterproof Jacket

1: Wipe Off Dirt and Debris

Inspect your jacket and wipe off as much dirt and debris as possible.

2: Prepare your jacket

Zip the main zipper and empty the pockets of trash, valuables, or leftover tissues. We recommend leaving smaller interior and exterior pockets unzipped, as they can get very dirty.

3: Place your jacket in the washing machine

It is best to use a front-loading washing machine, rather than a top-loading one. Hand washing is also a good option if you don't have access to a washing machine.

4: Add a technical detergent

Use a mild detergent, preferably one designed specifically for waterproof outerwear. These waterproof detergents help preserve the functionality and durability of your technical outerwear.

5: Adjust your washing machine settings

Set the load to a small size and the temperature to a regular or permanent press setting. Add a second rinse cycle to ensure there is no residual detergent.

6: Tumble dry or iron on low heat

Tumble dry on low heat for at least half an hour or until completely dry and warm. Set your iron to low heat (less than 230 degrees Fahrenheit) and do not use steam. Place a towel between garments and iron.
